In the Philippines, the replacement for a car’s windshield glass starts at Php 5,000 for small vehicle types. The actual cost will depend on the dimension of the glass and possibly coating material. In my case, I paid Php 5,000 for my Toyota Wigo which already includes the material itself and labor.

Should I Replace It Immediately?
You already know that a crack in your windshield is a disaster waiting to happen. Not only is your field of view limited, but vibrations and repeated shocks can eventually shatter the entire glass.
Tip: Once you have the money to buy a new glass, it is recommended that you have it replaced.
According to WHO, there is a 39% increase in road accidents and deaths in the Philippines. While they may have different causes, one of them is probably due to a broken windshield which can be a distraction for drivers.
Is there a possibility to repair the original material? Most of the time, cracks and shattered glass materials are not repairable. Moreover, simply patching the cracks may be dangerous as it will worsen in the future.
Labor Rate
The usual labor price of replacing the panel starts at Php 2,000. You may get a package from the auto glass shop to save on these fees. Weather strip replacement may also be done with an additional fee of Php 500 to Php 800. I suggest that you haggle with the technician to save on cost since they usually give package rates.
Auto Glass Price List
The glass type that you need will depend on the car’s make and model. However, a generic price estimate is possible by using a panel. According to Comglasco, the median price is from Php 2,600 to Php 19,000. Here are the average prices of auto glass for four-wheel vehicles.

Home Service
Some auto shops may offer home service repairs, replacement and delivery of the new material. However, this will involve additional charges ranging from Php 700 to Php 1,500 depending on your location. If there is a nearby auto shop, simply drive to it to save on delivery cost.
Casa Services
Apart from auto shops, you may also have your windshield replaced from the dealer where you purchased the car. They have package offers for those with cracks or shattered parts.
Warranty
Most shops will provide a certain warranty. In most cases, they can offer up to 3 to 5 years for the material and labor. To even maximize your use of the new glass, you may also opt to have it tinted. The price of a car tint depends on the number of windows and the brand or shade of the material.
